Check out these delicate and airy shawls which are just right for spring and summer!

Hello everyone!
I am longing for Spring! Yet, it is spitting snow here today!!  The sun has been so nice when it is shining, even with the air being cold the sun keeps working its magic on the snow! I can see that the level of snow on the lawn has settled or melted down at least 8 inches!  Yeah!!

This week, I finally finished a BIG project!  It is a baby Shetland shawl which I have been designing and knitting all these long winter months. I think it came out so beautiful!  There are sections of the shawl that are just plain knitting such as the center square and the four corners. With those garter stitch sections it pulls the whole thing together along with the edging. And I feel that the fern lace really sets it off!

I named the new one--Shetland Lullaby Baby Shawl.  This could also be knitted with fingering weight yarn to make a Shetland shawl for yourself.

I knitted this shawl with lace weight yarn which does take a longer time to knit. This past summer I knitted 2 other lace weight shawls which I will show pictures of here as well!

You can find this pattern as well as the others shown below for sale in all my pattern stores: Ravelry, Craftsy, Etsy, and Loveknitting!

Scarf Inspirations for Spring and St. Patrick's Day!

Hello everyone!
I am so glad that it is already March! Finally the end of this long cold winter is nearly in sight. The sun keeps getting warmer.  Even when the air is cold the sun beats down and works its magic on the snow, and warms us up!

We, here in Maine, have had a lot of snowstorms (as have many other places in America).  I think most of us wanted to just hibernate. It can be cozy to sit with a nice fire going in the fireplace or in my case the pellet stove, watch the snow storm blowing, and knitting some pretty lace scarf or shawl. My cats love to take turns sleeping in my lap or looking out the window to bird watch or take their naps. They are such a comfort to me--being all warm and cuddly, and keep me company while I design patterns and knit them!

I have been busy working on a few lace projects, and I have a big one I am trying to get done in the next 2 weeks as it is for a friends expected first grandchild. It is a lace weight Shetland shawl, so as many of you who have worked with lace can agree--it takes a long time to knit up. I will be putting up pictures of the shawl when it is completed--so stay tuned!!

In the meantime, I want to showcase some of my patterns I have knitted in green to help kick start St. Patrick's Day which is speedily coming up! These patterns you may have seen within the last 2 years if you have read my blogs before. Most, or all of my patterns can be found in Ravelry. Craftsy, Etsy or Loveknitting.com. So, given the pattern title you will find it in these places.
